Car Rental in England
England, or the British United Kingdom, is a historical and cultural superpower, abundant with attractions and interest. The special British humor, the theater and the music have long ago become the central symbols of England, and visiting the country integrates a rich cultural experience with green nature and spectacular sceneries. Car rental in England is the most convenient and thorough means to visit the country, which is famous for its inverse driving, on the left side of the road. A visit to the country must include its capital city of London, whose list of attractions alone can suffice for several trips.
London constitutes a touristic destination attracting thousands of tourists from the whole world, thanks to its heritage sites, cultural sites and the lovely spots it offers: at the center of the city you can find the Hyde Park, from the Royal Gardens of London, which spreads over 2.5km2. South to the West-End area and west of the River Thames, which constitutes an attraction by itself, most of Britain’s royal and governmental sites are concentrated, led by the Parliament Building, the Big-Ben - maybe the world’s most famous clock, and the Buckingham Palace – the Queen’s palace. A tour in the palace exposes the traveler to the extensive royal heritage of England, to the art treasures owned by the British Kingdom and of course – to the daily exchange of guards’ ceremony.
The West-End area itself is considered the cultural district of London, and you can find in it the famous Oxford street – the largest street for shopping in Europe, the Soho – a compound abundant in restaurants, shops, art galleries and nightlife, the bustling Piccadilly Circus and the Trafalgar Square - London's main square. Tourist attractions such as the London Bridge and the London Eye (a ferris wheel also known as the Millennium Wheel located in the Jubilee Gardens), are situated at southern London.

Except for driving on the left side of the road, when renting a car in England it is also important to remember several important rules:
In London, a toll is collected from all vehicles entering the city during rush hours, Mondays to Fridays, between 7:00 and 18:30. This toll may be paid through the internet, the phone or even an SMS (text) message. As is customary in the USA (but unlike other European countries), in England the travel speed limit is measured in miles per hour rather than in kilometers per hour. In urban areas, the travel speed limit is 30mph (and in some places even 20mph), on interurban roads with one lane the restriction is 60mph, on interurban roads with several lanes it is 70mph, as is on highways. Enforcement on travel speed does exist and it is certainly required to obey the rules.
A yellow stripe painted along the road indicates parking limitations and it is recommended to pay attention to the adjacent signage, which will appear on a traffic sign. A double yellow stripe signifies that parking is not allowed in this area, and a single continuous yellow stripe means that parking is not allowed until 18:30, on Mondays thru Saturdays.
